Jakarta. Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated the Rp 418 billion ($28.8 million) Jakarta International Equestrian Park in Pulomas on Thursday (02/08).
"The Jakarta International Equestrian Park will hopefully make us proud during the Asian Games," Anies said.
Construction firm Jakarta Propertindo, which is a subsidiary of Pulo Mas Jaya, renovated the equestrian park in Pulomas, East Jakarta, over the past year for use as a venue during the Asian Games, which will be hosted by Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra, between Aug. 18 and Sept. 2.
"Jakarta International Equestrian Park Pulomas has secured international certification, such as being declared an equine disease-free zone by the World Organization for Animal Health [OIE] in Paris and from the European Union," Pulo Mas Jaya president director Bambang Mursalin said in a statement on Thursday.
The 35.25-hectare equestrian park features five arenas, including a main arena, training arena, warm-up area and other supporting facilities. The 990-seat main arena, which also makes provision for people with disabilities, is equipped with 156 horse stalls, an equine clinic and isolation stalls for sick animals.
Bambang said the equestrian park will also be used for other events, such as a venue for conferences, weddings or even music concerts and art exhibitions, which will generate more income for the Jakarta administration.
Pulo Mas Jaya, founded in 1996, focuses on property development, recreational or tourism parks, offices and business centers. The company also manages apartment buildings, business centers and recreational parks.
